Strength in Numbers
- To protect your industry today, you have to "stand up and be counted." The best way to do that is by joining the Kansas Building Industry Association. How else will legislators know your concerns and respond to your needs? Click Here to Join

Currently the KBIA represents over 1700 members statewide. With numbers like these, it's no wonder governmental officials take notice when we are involved in an issue.

Members Doing Business With Members - One of the privileges of membership is the opportunity to network with other members. Through business meetings, socials, and educational seminars, you can develop relationships with potential customers. As a result you increase your business and your reputation as a staple in your marketplace.

Your Voice in Topeka - When it comes to the building industry, no organization is more committed to you than the KBIA. Time after time, the KBIA has "gone to bat" to ensure that your industry remains viable and you remain in business.

The following is a list of just a few items the KBIA has done for the building industry:

  • Repeal of Kansas Corporation Commission Authority to adopt state-wide
  • Model Energy Code (MEC 93).
  • Protection of the Mechanics lien law
  • Passage of a statute of limitations on product liability specifically for the construction industry.
  • Formation of the Kansas Private Property Right Coalition, resulting in passage of private property rights legislation.
  • Participation in recodification of planning and zoning statutes.
  • Formation of a Group Self Insurance Fund for members of the KBIA. At the time, this provided a market for our members workers' compensation coverage, when no market existed.
  • Resolution of numerous sales tax issues on behalf of the industry
  • Formation of the storm water runoff task force.
